Research Assistant

Kaitlyn DeStefano is a Research Assistant at the Bio-Behavioral Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology, with minors in Human Services, Cognitive Science, and Criminology from Hofstra University. Kaitlyn graduated summa cum laude and with departmental honors. She will also present her undergraduate honors thesis research poster at the American Psychological Association (APA) 2026 Conference. The poster, entitled "Benefits of a Brief Self-Compassion Intervention for Stigmatized Students," will be presented under Division 09 - Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI).

During her time at the Bio-Behavioral Institute, Kaitlyn participated in multiple research initiatives, conducted clinical patient assessments, and assisted in creating presentations for clinical staff. Kaitlyn will enter William James College to earn a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology.
